VOTE FOR MARIJUANA RESEARCH

Medical marijuana is being supplied to a few people by the federal
government. But there has been no federal money for clinical research
on the benefits these people receive from marijuana.

Oregon now has more than 10,000 people who are using medical
marijuana. Measure 33 would provide funding to Oregon research
scientists who wish to study the medical benefits of cannabinoids in
patients. This money would come from the income generated by
dispensaries.

Many doctors have said that they don't know enough about the clinical
effects of cannabinoids to be able to recommend marijuana to their
patients. I have been looking, without success, for funding to do
clinical research that will provide doctors with the information they
need about cannabis therapeutics.

We now have an opportunity to expand our knowledge about this
medicine. Please vote "yes" on Measure 33.
