I began my latest odyssey in wrangling the Czar on August 23rd with this invitation to Sonya Salstrom, an assistant to the Director of Public Affairs of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, the ONDCP: "I am having a difficult time in getting an interview with anyone dedicated to further enforcement of the drug prohibition laws. I understand that you see great harms in marijuana, more so than with heroin or cocaine, at a time when many are calling for reform of all these laws, more especially so in regards to marijuana." I've tried numerous times to contact his office, to get him or a member of his Office of National Drug Control Policy to do an interview for the Drug Truth radio network. His office states: "It certainly appears as though you have had some interesting guests on your show. While we will be unable to accommodate your request, we wish well in your future endeavors.". I'm sure they think I can be ignored, that the sheeple of America are sufficiently under their thumb and that they can continue their little game for another 90 years. I convince congressmen, judges, district attorney's and respected authors to visit my show to discuss the drug war and yet the man who stands for eternal war on our brethren for their choice of intoxicants is insulated from the public much like the President. I met John Walters, (or at least I tried.) He spoke at Dulles High School with Rep. Tom Delay about gangs, drugs and violence. For the first few minutes, nearly every phrase he uttered was met with shouts from the audience of "liar", "are you a doctor?" and other phrases meant to reveal his deceptions. At least a dozen (visible) cops, DEA and ONDCP security were in attendance, staring at the audience like they were supper. Mr. "Zero Tolerance" begged for tolerance from the audience, to allow him to finish his speech. Punkmeister John wanted us to know that "marijuana has now become the single greatest threat, twice as addicting as cocaine and a vastly more important problem than heroin and methamphetamines." I cannot find ANYBODY, ANYWHERE who is willing to debate this policy of war without end. When my turn came they declined to allow any more questions. I tried to get close enough to hand the Czar my business card. His cadre of "special agents" would not allow me to introduce myself nor would they hand my card to him. He left through the rear exit with his cadre surrounding him, looking every bit the gangster that he is. Marijuana, the former medicine, fiber, food, fuel and boon to mankind has become a threat to our nation, just ask the Czar who knows all, sees all and is ever ready to kill you and your children to keep you safe from marijuana. I grew up believing in an America that had compassion, intelligence, understanding and that offered not second chances, but infinite chances. If my vision of America is flawed, if the likes of John Walters can stand as knowledgeable and credible and spill his swineherd soliloquies forever, then the America I dreamed of is lost.
