ACLU RUSHES TO DEFEND TALK SHOW HOST

Good for the American Civil Liberties Union. Despite having been bashed
many times over the years by conservative radio talk show host Rush
Limbaugh, the ACLU has come to his defense over whether prosecutors should
have access to his medical records.

We happen to disagree with the ACLU's legal position. Frankly, prosecutors
have been able to show more than enough reasons for wanting to access
Limbaugh's medical records. He apparently got four different doctors to
prescribe more than 2,000 painkillers in just six months. Keep in mind,
this is on top of the thousands of pills he is accused of buying from
illegal sources.

But you have to admire that ACLU's consistency in opposing what the
organization sees as an infringement of Limbaugh's constitutional rights.

Limbaugh, a frequent and harsh critic of illegal drugs, claims that he is
being targeted by prosecutors for political reasons, although he admits
that he had a drug habit. Too bad that, unlike the ACLU, his positions
don't stay constant no matter who is being targeted.
