EDUCATION MONEY NEEDS TO BE SPENT IN CLASSROOMS

The Editor,

Re: "Drug dogs would cost schools," the Now, Jan. 7.

Surrey school board how dare you! First you wasted valuable taxpayer's
money on court costs regarding three innocuous books and now you are
considering wasting $40,000 to $50,000 on drug dogs. What business are
you in? Obviously not education.

I have two sons in the Surrey school district and I see a lack of
books, computers and I am worried about their safety in an industrial
class. Put the money back where it belongs - in the classroom.

What are you trying to accomplish? Do you think finding a joint in a
kid's locker is gong to help anyone? As a nation we are now looking
toward relaxing drug laws and the world didn't stop after gay
marriage. The school board needs to move into the 21st century and put
the money for Surrey's children where it is needed the most.
