ACTIONS BY OFFICERS WERE INDEFENSIBLE

I am writing with my support for Carl Wagner, who was recently featured in
the Mail after his outrageous treatment by the police.

With the Government making cannabis a Class C drug from January 29, the
treatment Mr Wagner and his family received beggars belief.

It would be sensible to first study the movements of someone before
breaking down doors, ruining decor and scaring children half to death
before Christmas.

This sort of behaviour will be frowned upon from January 29, when police
will have to use their "discretion" when arresting cannabis users.

So why do the police in Hull find it appropriate to behave like this?

If these are the same police who allowed Ian Huntley to begin a new life in
a children's school with his history, it is hardly surprising that Mr
Wagner is getting such grief.

The police do have better things to do, but they prefer to do the easy jobs.
