REHAB CENTER OPPOSED

I have served on the board of the Kinnan Elementary PTO for three
years, the last year as president. I am shocked and appalled that
anyone in our community, including the elected commissioners, could
even consider supporting a facility like the Salvation Army's proposed
adult rehabilitation center so close to our children. We are a young
community trying to grow; allowing a complex of recovering addicts
into our back yards and school playground is not only insulting, it is
irresponsible as well.

Anyone who believes the sole intent of the Salvation Army is to help
the surrounding community with its alleged drug problem is naive. This
is all about money, plain and simple. That a charity with such a good
reputation is willing to endanger the children of the community that
supports them speaks volumes about the intent of the Salvation Army.

It is my hope that our community, our planning department and our
elected officials will see this, and vote a strong, resounding no when
asked if they support this organization's lack of regard for our
community and children.
