Hill THE DOPE ON POT We've heard marijuana has medicinal value as a pain killer and should be available to those suffering from cancer, multiple sclerosis or AIDS. Little has been done, however, to demonstrate it is more effective than regular drugs available at the pharmacy. We have found many of those who are demanding marijuana to help them cope with their diseases smoked the weed for years before they became ill. Now we are hearing from those who want the marijuana laws relaxed or eliminated entirely. Some favour having marijuana regulated like alcohol. They remind us that prohibition did not work. The truth is, prohibition would have worked had it not been for corrupt politicians and cops on the take. History has shown us the more readily available any substance is, the more it will be used. Enough is known about the dangers of marijuana. No caring person is going to promote its use. Rev. Donald G. Hill Living Hope Ministries, Orillia - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
