TO EX-USER THIS DRUG IS POISON

I'm an erstwhile narcotics user and now work with people who are still
using drugs. Through my contact with the drug scene, I see the change the
upsurge in methamphetamine use has made to the local drug culture.

People I have known for years who have used all manner of controlled
substances have managed to appear, if not perfect specimens of humanity, at
least generally healthy.

However, with as little as two months of speed use, these same people
appear to age 10 years.

It is a pity that now there is a substance truly as dangerous as the
anti-drug hype says it is, the anti-drug lobby has cried wolf so many times
over such innocuous substances such as cannabis that youth can't bring
themselves to believe what they're told.

I have no problem with people using drugs for recreational use. However, I
can't see speed as a recreational drug - it is poison.
