ANTI-DRUG VOTE PRAISED

RENO (AP) - The nation's deputy drug czar praised Nevadans' rejection last
year of a marijuana initiative, saying she thinks it reflects the country's
growing anti-drug sentiment.

"Rejection is part of a movement nationwide ... away from allowing drugs to
affect our society," Andrea Barthwell said before speaking to the National
Association of Drug Court Professionals annual conference in
Reno. Barthwell is deputy director of demand reduction in the Office of
National Drug Control Policy.
