LONG BORDER LINEUPS

U.S. Ambassador Paul Cellucci warns of long border lineups if Canada
decriminalizes or legalizes pot? ("Soft laws may stall borders," April 30)
I think not. While 80% of Canadian exports go to the U.S., it is also the
case that 25% of U.S. goods are exported to Canada. Canada represents the
profit margin for a substantial number of corporations. Also, there is the
fact that we have raw materials the U.S. needs. Cellucci should think about
exhaling now. He is starting to sound like Iraq's former information minister.

(Canada isn't planning to legalize it, just reduce the penalties.)
