PRISONERS ON DRUGS SHOULD BE IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT

I have a logical solution to the urgent problem of getting the one in five
inmates, "poor t'ings," off "ice." Give them all urine tests. Those with
drugs in their systems go to solitary confinement for 30 days. No visitors,
no lawyers, no wives, friends, etc., and no activity requiring them to leave
their cells (sponge baths will do). After 30 days they have a fresh start to
prove they can stay off drugs. If, 30 days later a urine test finds drugs in
their system, back to 30 days in solitary.

Rights? I can just hear the ACLU screaming at my suggestion. Rights? Let's
remember that criminals gave up their rights when they went against the laws
of society. They have no rights until they have paid their dues.

Isn't it about time that the individual take control of one's own behavior
and not have an excuse for every stupid mistake one makes? Get a grip,
Hawaii prison management, stop the madness. It disgusts me.
