POLICE WARN DRUGS MAY BE TAINTED

In a recent narcotics investigation here, it has come to the attention of
the Fort Frances OPP that the use of illegal drugs, particularly marijuana,
may pose serious health risks.

Unconfirmed reports have indicated marijuana found in Rainy River District
may have been laced with an unknown toxic substance, which may cause
serious health problems for those consuming it.

Police, therefore, are warning anyone from ingesting or consuming these
drugs. Should anyone consume these drugs and health problems occur, they
should contact medical authorities as soon as possible.

Targeting the distribution and usage of marijuana and other illicit drugs
in Rainy River District has been an ongoing priority for the OPP.

People who choose to possess, consume, or distribute illegal drugs are
committing a criminal offence, which has never been condoned by law
enforcement officials

In addition to these activities being illegal, the consumption of
non-prescription drugs poses a health risk to those who choose to consume them.
