TRUTH MUST COME BEFORE TRUST

I am all for healing in Columbus after the killing of Kenny Walker by
law enforcement. However, the underlying problem cannot be solved
unless it is acknowledged. Maybe diversity training would be
beneficial for the law enforcement of our city and county -- but only
if is treated seriously by those in command.

The only thing I know for sure is that Kenny Walker is dead, and he's
dead for no reason. I've known Kenny since he came to work at Blue
Cross over 15 years ago. I've had the good fortune to work with him
every day as a fellow analyst for the past three years. Kenny added
greatly to our team. There will always be a hole in my heart after
this senseless killing.

My prayers go up every day for Cheryl, that precious baby Kayla, and
Mrs. Walker. The last time I saw Kayla she had wrapped herself around
Kenny's leg not wanting him to get out of her sight. Kayla loved her
Daddy. That picture will remain with me a long time.

Kenny was an exemplary man who did all the right things, yet it wasn't
enough. That's what hurts most -- there was nothing he could have done
to prevent this tragedy.

Please give us the truth about what really happened. Maybe then I can
start to trust law enforcement again and work toward healing my heart.
