Fellow Christian Disagrees

GOD CREATED MARIJUANA FOR MANKIND TO BENEFIT

Dear Editor,

I was appalled at the opinion submitted by Pastor Grant McDowell in
the Oct. 24 edition of the Leduc Rep -- What does compassion look like?

McDowell's opinion is simply an endorsement of today's outdated drug
laws, wrapped in a religious shroud.

As a fellow Christian I respectfully disagree.

After Jesus gathered his disciples and started teaching his first
sermon taught us to "judge not, lest ye be judged." If Jesus were here
today he would be standing on the truth, as he taught us to do.

The truth is as follows:

1. Today's drug laws are hypocritical, and most Canadians want them
changed.

2. Legal drugs (alcohol and tobacco) are the most dangerous and cause
thousands of deaths per month in every province.

3. Canadians who prefer marijuana instead of booze or tobacco have
made a very healthy choice, as no fatalities have been directly linked
to marijuana.

4. God created the marijuana seed for mankind so we could all benefit
from this miraculous plant.

If you have not figured it out already I am both a Christian and a
marijuana user. I thank Jesus for blessing me every time I smoke a
joint.

Jesus drank wine, and he will judge me because I prefer the miracle
plant.
