POT DEBATE AT COLLEGE

MANSFIELD -- Legalization of marijuana will be discussed at North
Central State College.

"Heads vs. Feds: The Great Debate" will be conducted via satellite broadcast
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 128A of Kee Hall at North Central.

Steven Hager and Robert Stutman will debate the legalization of
marijuana. After the debate, Billy Martin will offer a scientific
perspective of the use of marijuana.

Hager, editor in chief of High Times Magazine, works to establish the
counterculture as a legitimate minority group.

Stutman made a 25-year career as one of the country's highest profile
Drug Enforcement Agency agents and was responsible for more than
15,000 arrests.

Martin is professor and chairman of the Department of Pharmacology and
Toxicology at Virginia Commonwealth University.

This trio will discuss the physical and social effects of marijuana,
and the laws surrounding the use and possession of the drug.

The program, produced by Phi Theta Kappa and the National Collegiate Honors
Council (NCHC), is the final installment of a five-part series entitled
Dimensions and Directions of Health: Choices in the Maze.
