U.S. HAS BEEN BRAINWASHING THE PUBLIC

WITH ALL due respect to Jonathan Mitrovich, who recently wrote regarding the
effects of marijuana and impaired driving (Oct. 16), the effect of consuming
a marijuana cigarette is comparable to the effect of consuming a glass of
red wine, or so I hear. While it wouldn't be a good idea to drive
immediately afterwards in either case, should it really be considered a
problem three hours later? As for "U.S. studies" about marijuana, most
people know the U.S. has been brainwashing the public for years with dubious
"studies" that attempt to "prove" pot causes everything from birth defects
to psychotic behaviour. The source of this fear-mongering is (mostly)
nothing more than the insistence of the self-righteous to inflict their
brand of morality upon others. Enough. It's high time we ended marijuana
prohibition!

so we hear)
