Under the recommendation, police would do tests, including making drivers walk a straight line, to determine if they were influenced by drugs. Drivers would also have a breath test. The recommendation would give officers power, if drivers passed the test but were still suspected of being under the influence of drugs, to take them for a blood test. Acting Assistant Police Commissioner Steve Robbins said testing for drugs and alcohol was different because drugs affected people differently. - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Seguin
