RESIDENTS AT DRUG TREATMENT MINISTRY RILE NEIGHBORS

A church ministry that treats drug addicts hasn't been a good neighbor,
according to residents of Pend Oreille County.

The Everett Herald reports that residents signed a petition to shut down
Set Free Outreach, which has 35 men living at the property.

Neighbor Gene Gardner contended the ranch should be licensed and regulated
as a halfway house if it isn't closed.

They say Set Free residents have broken into nearby houses and trespassed
on property.

"I bet there aren't any 10 houses in the county that have required that
level of police response," Pend Oreille County Sheriff Jerry Weeks said of
the Set Free ranch.
