SHORT INTELLIGENCE TESTS

I'm writing about Lou Dobbs' commentary: "THE WAR ON DRUGS IS STILL A
WAR WORTH FIGHTING" (8-19-03).

Regarding Dobbs' bogus claim that there are 9 million fewer drug users
in American today as compared to 1979, in 1979 methamphetamine use and
abuse was not at epidemic levels throughout the U. S. as we do today.

In 1979 we didn't have greater than 2 million prisoners, as we do
today. In 1979 we didn't have swat teams on every police force
waiting to bust in doors in the middle of the night because someone is
suspected of selling or using the wrong (politically selected) drugs.

The 9 million figure is based upon so-called anonymous surveys
conducted by total strangers. Actually they are also short
intelligence tests. Answer affirmative, and you have failed the
intelligence test.
