Of course the provincial government really has it coming on the BC Rail issue, but attacks on the justice system, or for those of you who think that the term "jusitce system" is an oxymoron, the legal system, are somewhat troubling. While we've advocated for the decriminalization of marijuana in this space before we're not convinced the crown Prince of Pot, Marc Emery, brings anything of value to the debate. His sideshow-like clowning antics were quite rightly ignored by the local RCMP. Why on earth would they help this guy by arresting him for "sparking up a fatty" across from the Brunswick Street office? Ignoring stuntmen like Emery who only seek to become notorious takes the wind right out of their sails. The other attack on the system came from a large group gathered on the courthouse steps to protest the Crown's handling of cases of violence against women. - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Seguin
