NO GROW PROPRIETOR DISMISSES NAYSAYERS

Business is growing for a Kelowna company that is trying to help landlords
protect their property from marijuana grow operations.

Since Michael Glendinning launched No Grow last month in Kelowna, he has
received numerous calls -- not all of them good.

Amid callers interested in protecting their property were some calls from
people claiming to be marijuana growers.

Glendinning said he has received some threats because of the product, but
downplayed the risk.

"They researched it themselves and they know it works," he said of the
product that introduces marijuana pollen into a home's air ventilation
system. The pollen is supposed to trigger seed production in marijuana
plants that are in bud.

Threats or not, Glendinning is expanding and will launch the product in the
Lower Mainland next week.

He said he will work with a number of property management companies at the
Coast who will use the product.

Glendinning said there are a lot of misconceptions regarding No Grow.
Critics have said the amount of pollen needed to disrupt a grow-op would
render a home uninhabitable.

"They don't understand. We're not trying to irradicate marijuana, we're
trying to protect home owners," he said, adding he doesn't care if people
smoke pot.

Since its inception, Glendinning said the goal of No Grow was to stop
marijuana growing operations in rental units. Damage from such operations
can cost home owners thousands of dollars in repairs after the tenants move
out.

"They just walk away because you don't know who they are. They don't repair
a thing and you're left holding the bill," he said.

Glendinning dismissed critics' claims the product does not work.

"There's always going to be a skeptic," said Glendinning. "If one of these
spores attaches itself to a bud, it's over. It's effective. It turns budding
plants into seed, making them worthless."

Glendinning said dozens of people have purchased the product in the past few
weeks. Each home that buys No Grow will have stickers on the doors and some
windows notifying people of its use in the house.

"If they're (marijuana grow operators) looking to rent a property and they
see it, I guarantee they'll turn around."
