$3M WORTH OF DRUGS UNCOVERED

A series of busts by city cops over two days has resulted in the
confiscation of almost $3 million worth of drugs from Calgary homes.

A chain reaction of busts and information led police through four
busts that sent drug dealers' dreams of easy millions up in smoke.

"I didn't sleep for 48 hours straight, but (the operation) was very
productive," said Det. Ryan Dobson.

On Wednesday, a bust set off a domino effect when police searched a
house at 71 Edgeland Cres. N.W. and seized $1.2 million in pot plants.

Information at that scene led cops to a home two doors down from the
first at 83 Edgeland Cres. N.W., where 400 marijuana plants, three
handguns and $15,000 in cash were found.

That case led police to two north Calgary homes Thursday where about
1,000 marijuana plants and 2kg of magic mushrooms -- estimated at $1.2
million -- were found at 97 Panorama Hills Manor N.W.

The final search unearthed $300,000 worth of pot plants, steroids and
a small quantity of cocaine at 48 Coventry Green N.E.

Jamie Geoffrey Reid, 27; Kristy Elizabeth Bowlen, 24; Troy Jonathan
Gorman, 28; and Luke Ky Phui, 22, face numerous charges.
