RESPONSIBLE POT SMOKERS SHOULD NOT FORCE CHOICE ON OTHERS

Editor, The Record:

As a cannabis smoker, I would like to agree whole-heartedly with the opinion
written on June 26, 2003.

Responsible cannabis smokers should not force their choices on others, the
same as any other smoker. Just because I choose to smoke cannabis, does not
mean I feel I can smoke it anywhere, at any time.

To allow smoking indoors, I feel there should be adequate ventilation such
that my smoking won't adversely affect those not smoking. If such
ventilation is not available, then the smoking must be moved to a separate
smoking area or outdoors.

This isn't just a case of "bothering" non-smokers. We should also think
about the people with breathing problems like asthma, who could be caused
more harm by exposure to any burning plant matter.

Hopefully the author will learn that not all cannabis smokers are as
irresponsible as the ones she unfortunately dealt with at the Jazz festival.
