According to The Courant article, state Rep. Walter Pawelkiewicz said that the state should help Willimantic "so that 12 months from now, we're not having the same conversation." Unfortunately, unless the war on drugs ends, and drug addiction is treated as a medical rather than a criminal problem, we will most definitely be having the same conversation 12 months and 30 years from now.
