PEOPLE MAKE DRUG DEALS EVERY DAY

Kara Lane (Letter Box, May 20) writes that there is no such thing as a good
drug deal, but she is wrong. Good drug deals happen all the time in pubs
and bars, gas stations, carry-outs and supermarkets. Alcohol and tobacco
are traded on a daily basis, and no one ever gets shot or killed in the deal.

When other drugs, currently illegal, are regulated properly, some for adult
use, like marijuana, some for medical prescription only, and others for
addiction management, then there will be no need for the media or anyone
else to rephrase how they report things.

Until then, I suggest "prohibition-related death" because that is as close
to the truth as it gets.
