Nunley SHERIFF COOPER HAS CONNECTED THE DOTS Kudos for Sheriff Cooper for "connecting the dots" between alcohol and substance abuse and the many criminal activities that result. While most aren't given severe penalties for possession or use of illicit drugs, 78 percent of those incarcerated in state and federal prisons admit abusing alcohol or drugs prior to or during the commission of illegal acts. Greenup Countians need to understand that using and/or distributing drugs is never a "victimless" crime. Unless you live in a vacuum, you are impacted daily by alcohol and illicit drug abuse -- emotionally, physically, or socially. Greenup County can't afford the cost of a sheriff who is "tolerant" of alcohol and illicit drug abuse or one who believes that illicit drugs should not be a priority. That's why Sherriff Keith Cooper deserves the continued support of Greenup County. Veronica A. Nunley Flatwoods - --- MAP posted-by: Beth
