CUSTOMS INSPECTORS SEIZE $11.4 MILLION IN MARIJUANA, COCAINE

LAREDO, Texas- More than three tons of marijuana and cocaine worth 
about $11.2 million were seized in two weekend incidents at the 
Laredo Port of Entry, the U.S. Customs Service said Monday.

At the World Trade Bridge on Saturday afternoon, a Customs inspector 
found drugs hidden in bundles amid wooden tables 4,365 pounds of 
marijuana with a street value of $4.3 million in a 1990 International 
trailer.

Saturday night, at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge, inspectors found 306 pounds 
of cocaine valued at $4.8 million and 2,146 pounds of marijuana 
valued at $2.1 million in a compartment under the bus floor.

No arrests were made in the first case. In the second, Martin 
Alejandre-Mora, 37, of Mexico City was arrested on federal charges of 
importation and possession with intent to distribute a controlled 
substance.
