HELP SICK, NOT VAIN

Am I the only one who sees the absurdity in the testimony of the Vermont
Senate medical marijuana hearings and the FDA giving the go-ahead for BoTox
injections in the same week?

One doctor testifies to the panel that he thinks pot should only be
permitted for terminally ill patients. I guess only the dying should
benefit, but not the living, as the side effects just might be too much fun
for the sick but not terminal folks. Another says that currently available
anti-emetics can do the job. I have tried almost all of them and doctor,
they don't work.

So maybe if marijuana were a deadly poison that vain, aging baby boomers
could inject into their skulls to remove a few wrinkles every six months,
it would garner FDA approval, too.

P.S. -- Has anyone in the Senate thought to call or e-mail their fellow
legislators in Maine or Oregon or California to see how they shaped their
laws to dance around the federal statutes and still help the sick?
