WRONG AGAIN

I am writing this letter in response to David Corr's recent letter about
drugs and prostitution. What I am writing about is the completely ignorant
statement, "We spend billions of dollars to fight an unwinnable war on
these activities which harm nobody but arguably those who engage in them."
The man who writes over $10,000 worth of bad checks in a two-month period
of time so he can afford his crack and cocaine during that time affects no
one but himself. Right? Wrong.

He goes to jail not for the drugs alone but for the $10,000 dollars worth
of bad checks and a few counts of theft. You still say "That's him." Wrong
again.

His two sons who are seven and 10 now haven't seen their father in 3 years,
and his ex-wife has to answer the question of where their daddy is. What
about the man who overdosed while taking Ecstasy and cocaine? He died so it
only affected him right? Wrong.

He left a 6-year-old son behind, as well as a wife. If you want to talk
about destroying lives and disrupting families, just take your eyes off
that powder for a little while and look at the real world. I guess if drugs
were legal, neither of these two instances would have occurred.

Drugs and people themselves ruin lives, not the laws against them.
