DRUGS AND SEX

Editor -- Although Ahmar Mustikhan is right to be incensed about gay-
bashing, he wrongly denigrates drug users by asking, "Why put a person's
sexuality in the same dirty basket as drug addiction?" ("Gay Pakistani runs
smack into 'Pure America'," Open Forum, Mar 31).

In fact, sexuality encompasses a host of dirty vices that are if anything
more anti-social than drug abuse: pederasty, sadism, rape, adultery, etc.

It would be wrong to tar all homosexuals with such misbehavior. Similarly,
it is wrong to vilify drug users as dirty addicts. To do so betrays the
same unthinking bigotry that Mustikhan so rightly deplores.
