WOMEN'S TREATMENT CENTRE CLOSING?

Langley-Abbotsford MP Randy White is upset that Campbell Valley Women's
Centre, a residential treatment facility in Langley, will close its doors.

The facility has a full sized gym, weight room, indoor swimming pool,
school and pottery studio. The center was opened in April 1999 and has
since operated on corporate, community and government support.

"A vital drug rehabilitation center for addicted teenage girls will stop
providing services on March 30, 2002 if our community does not get
involved. Due to the lack of provincial and federal government support the
Campbell Valley Women's Centre will stop assisting our youth yet money is
directed to areas of much less importance. Surely between two mayors, two
MLAs, one MP, all of our churches and businesses we can help keep this
intrical part of our community functioning," White pleaded.

Over the past three years the Campbell Valley women's Centre, located at
460 - 216 Street in Langley, has successfully addressed the needs of some
of the highest risk youth in British Columbia. Even Alberta has placed
several young women in its care.

"I encourage everyone to contact Terry Lee Sealy at the Campbell Valley
Women's Centre (604-514-8849) to offer assistance. Let's do this for our
children. Write your local MLA in an effort to support
