PARENTS NEED TO ACT IF CHILDREN TAKE DRUGS

Obviously, whoever wrote the editorial against the urinalysis kits has not experienced a teen-ager on drugs.

As a parent/step-parent of nine children and 30-plus grandchildren, I speak with some authority on whatever can happen with the parent-child relationship.  Once your child has started with drugs, the only solution ( ask the experts ) is tough love.  The parent-child relationship is already damaged and your trust has been violated.  Drugs have interfered with your relationship and will soon destroy your child.  You must regain attention and respect quickly by whatever means possible.

The UA kit is simple, direct and effective - even if it isn't used.

Reno County District Attorney Keith Schroeder's intentions are to give you a tool to keep your child out of the court system.  He is to be complimented.
