POT LAWS HELP DEALERS

Daryl Rotondo's Dec. 14 letter to the editor under the heading, Our
Society Has Started To Condone Drug Abuse, asks "where is the public
outcry -- or is it only me?"

Most of the outcry happened 30 or 40 years ago. Those arguments are
obsolete. The court case of the Dec. 10 story involved only marijuana,
and the judge heard no evidence that the driver was impaired, I believe.

If "our casual marijuana use happens to lead to harder drugs," the
reason should be obvious: the same dealer is the source of all the
drugs. Instead of repeating scare tactics, think. Legalizing marijuana
breaks the connection.
