INTELLECTUAL FRAUD

Party on, Judge Gilbert! The Token' Judge.

You write, "He, and by extension the court, have been the butt of jokes and,
worse, have given the impression that the law does not operate equally for
everyone."

It is not an impression that the law is not applied to the wealthy classes
as harshly, it is a fact of reality. Take a poll, a randomized poll not
limited to wealthy white folk, and the conclusion will be clear. Does your
staff deny those who have the resources to access the system benefit
immensely? We'll see how many of you and your family members opt for a
public defender with no associated professional defense witnesses if and
when you are charged with a crime.

The War on Drugs has always been a racist war. It is not intended to target
the upper classes, only inner city minority folk. I quote the diary of Nixon
aide Bob Haldeman: "(President Nixon) emphasized that you have to face the
fact that the whole problem is really the blacks. The key is to devise a
system that recognizes this while not appearing to."

Smoke one up for justice, editorial staff of the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
Perhaps one small reason control freaks dislike adults smoking cannabis is
because it actually allows them to drop their psychological defenses a tad
and see uncomfortable realities a little straighter. Party on! Perhaps you
will come to see the truth, that any person who supports the War on
Marijuana is a dishonest intellectual fraud.
