OIL THE ROOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MIDDLE EAST

The Bush administration has finally lost its mind. The decision to run ads
during the Super Bowl that imply drug abusers support terrorists was a
great reach at the very most.

I guess the president thinks that wasting tax dollars on dubious ads aimed
at curbing drug use is better than spending the money on legitimate
projects such as building treatment centers for addicts. Following our
president's logic, people buying heroin from Afghanistan are a greater
threat to our security than people who insist on driving the gas-guzzling
automobiles that make us reliant on Middle Eastern oil.

Oil, not drugs, is the reason for our problems in the Middle East. I only
wish the president would stop listening to the oil barons who stuff his
campaign chest and instead focus on reality. Our country would be in a lot
better shape if that happened.
