CAST A VOTE FOR FREEDOM

I just read Jeff German's Oct. 27 column and was startled by the faulty
reasoning he displayed.

He seems to have missed a very important fact in the traffic death of
Sandra Thompson, which is that marijuana was illegal at the time of her
death. The law did not save her life and this accident is irrelevant to the
question of whether or not passage of Question 9 is a good idea.

Actually, it might be relevant that our limited police resources are now
being directed away from traffic law enforcement so that we can enforce
victimless crimes such as marijuana possession. Passage of Question 9 would
allow more resources to be directed toward traffic enforcement, including
apprehension of those driving while impaired by mind-altering substances.

We did not have a nation high on marijuana before passage of the marijuana
laws in the '30s, and we will not have a state high on marijuana if
Question 9 passes. Vote for freedom. Vote for Question 9.
