READERS CONTINUE MARIJUANA DEBATE

So (Clark County Deputy) District Attorney (Gary) Booker believes a 'cartel'
is behind the November marijuana initiative. No, Mr. Booker does not really
believe his own lie. How could he?

Legalizing small amounts of marijuana with the 'state' regulating sales to
adults would never be in a drug cartel's economic interest. Think about it.
The real issue is Mr. Booker and the rest of law enforcement have been
feeding at the drug war trough for so long that they are scared to death of
legalizing even small amounts of marijuana. Why? Because their economic
interest is at stake vis-a-vis lost asset forfeiture, increased police
spending (at the expense of education), and increased state and federal
bureaucracy and larger jails and prisons. The real 'cartel' is the drug
warrior cartel composed of Mr. Booker and the rest of his ilk.
