PROHIBITION FAILING HORRIBLY

Re They treat cars better than bodies (letter, Oct. 1). William Austin's
statements that Canada should ban cigarettes and alcohol as well as keeping
marijuana banned sound great in theory; however, prohibition is proven to
not work. Education and treatment have proven to be much more effective in
managing the problem of drug abuse.

I suggest Canada get away from the failed U.S. policy of prohibition.
