CANADA MIRED IN MORALITY CRISIS

This is in response to all the letters in support of the legalization of
marijuana. The facts I presented in my last letter regarding marijuana
(Don't legalize marijuana, Sept. 17) are highly accurate. Not only is it
common sense but if you really need sources to back it up, visit any
marijuana information Web site or look it up in your encyclopedia. You will
see the same facts along with many others in a more detailed form enough to
convince even the most stubborn skeptic on the issue that marijuana harms
the user. The facts are way more up to date than that of the 1930s as they
didn't even know smoking was harmful during that era. I am no marijuana
scientist. I don't speak from experience either since I've always been
smart enough to have no desire whatsoever to use the weed. But I am wise
enough to research my ideas before presenting false facts, something I
can't say for all of you in relation to this subject.

Also, the use of marijuana is morally wrong and the fact that Canada should
ever consider legalizing it is all the more reason to believe that Canada
is in a morality crisis and that it as a nation lacks common sense. No
wonder our society is falling apart!

So I urge you all to re-examine your viewpoint on this harmful and
despicable drug. You can believe whatever you want, but do understand this:
You can't change the reality that marijuana does more harm than good. This
outweighs any reason to make it legal. Anyone who cannot understand that
must be too stoned to know the difference.
