POLICE PRIORITIES OUT OF WHACK

To the editor:

Re: "Cops want pot club regulated," Sept. 1.

Hillary Black has been scrupulous in confirming patients have a valid
doctor's recommendation before allowing them membership. She has worked
closely with city officials and is in no way connected to illegal or
recreational drug use.

Why are police using court-challenged, unfulfillable bureaucratic
regulations to close this noble establishment? Do they wish to prevent the
over 2,000 chronically ill or dying patients/patrons from getting their
government-approved medicine? Or are they trying to create new unregulated
grow operations in Vancouver?

Maybe they're just trying to rustle up some business for the local
street-level drug dealers.
