MP MISSES THE POINT

Dear Sir:

Provencher MP Vic Toews has missed the biggest point of the Senate report.

It states that decisions concerning marijuana, in regard to the fact that
it is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco should be devolved to the provinces.

Therefore it is really none of his business to decide. Once marijuana is a
provincial regulatory function, the rules in regards to age and sales may
be different in each province.

The fact is that in my province (BC) support for legalization is close to
60 percent and this law is viewed as a perfect example of eastern waste and
regulation should be our provincial decision. We should not have to live
with a law the majority so clearly despises.
