Inge SENATE SPACED OUT An unelected Senate is the reason why a Senate committee has loonily recommended the legalization of marijuana. Those appointed members from patronage live in a dream world where the health and welfare of children and teens mean nothing. There are good reasons why pot is illegal, while tobacco and liquor are not: 1. The high potency of today's pot is not the mild stuff of the '60s. 2. Anyone can easily grow and process pot in their basements to make profits, putting neighbourhoods at risk of fire and crime. 3. Criminals would take full advantages of legalization and sell home-grown pots to kids, more cheaply and with higher potency than government marijuana stores or the local grocers. Criminals are not stupid, but they do appreciate anything to make their life easier. D.L. Inge Vancouver, B.C. - --- MAP posted-by: Keith Brilhart
