UNCOMFORTABLE? TOO BAD

Toronto -- So, Anne McLellan is "uncomfortable" with patients smoking pot
to ease pain and suffering (Ottawa Shelves Medicinal Pot -- Aug. 20). Ms.
McLellan seems not to be overly concerned about the discomfort of these
potential users of pot, however.

Maybe she's right, though. Better to stick with the current legal
offerings. Stuff like Demerol, codeine and morphine. No dangerous stuff
there, eh? Imagine if those teenagers who found a stash of morphine pills
in Nipawin, Sask., had come across a stash of pot? Horrors!
