BRITISH AND MARIJUANA

I disagree with the recent op-ed column by Sheryl McCarthy stating that
"Britain is great" because it has downgraded the use of marijuana as an
illegal drug.

Morphine is now widely used to help cancer victims who are terminal to deal
with their pain. I totally agree with that; however, I disagree with the
use of marijuana (an illegal drug) for any reason.

McCarthy ends the column by saying, "The states [United States of America]
should following the Brits" in downgrading the use of marijuana. I'm sure
there are many other positives in which we, the United States of America,
could follow the "Brits" rather than smoking pot.

This column should have never been printed in a family-oriented newspaper
like the Sentinel.
