PROBLEMS, SUCCESS OUT OF OUR HANDS

While on many occasions I share the frustrations shared by Donald M. Board,
in his "Don't help addicts, alcoholics" letter, I have modified my thoughts
as I have gotten older.

I have begun to realize that everything I do or don't have (including the
ability to become or not become an addict or alcoholic) is in God's hands.
As much as I would like to take credit for the successes in my life, I must
admit it is the Almighty Creator that did everything.

As much as I would like to blame the "knucklehead" who's behavior I might
have to help pay for, I stop and pause. I realize that it is but for the
grace of God I am not in their position. Sometimes it is easy to forget who
is the clay and who is the potter.
