Brian Brown, 49, was placed on administrative leave and cited for possessing one ounce or less of marijuana, a Class 2 petty offense, said Sgt. Tim Moore of the Douglas County sheriff's office. The charge carries a possible $100 fine upon conviction. A statement from the Douglas County School District said the discovery was made Monday during a random search inside the school and in the parking lot using drug-sniffing dogs from the sheriff's office. The search, the first in a new program at all the county's high schools, identified nine cars as possibly having trace amounts of illegal substances. Subsequent searches cleared all but the one car, according to police.
