CONTRADICTION

EDITOR: Let's see. We have a United States surveillance plane sending
Peruvian fighter pilots after a planeload of missionaries to shoot them
down, thereby killing a mother and her child, and crippling the pilot.

Then, we have the Colombian army, using funds provided by the U.S.
government, which is ignoring and seeming to condone the mutilation and
killing of Colombian civilians with chain saws by right-wing paramilitary
groups. All of this is being done in the name of the ever-popular "drug
war," which costs the American taxpayer billions of dollars. It's your
guess as to which is deadlier: drugs or the war on drugs.

All I know is that I feel much safer now.
