SENATE APPROVES DRUG LIABILITY LAW

The Illinois Senate voted Friday to crack down on people who make money
from young people who take drugs and use alcohol in their establishments.

The Senate approved the measure, sponsored by Sen. Patrick O'Malley,
R-Palos Park, that would make business owners liable for damages as a
result of a minor's injuring or killing someone while high or intoxicated.

"This legislation is to go after businesses where they conduct parties or
watch these activities go on," he said.

The measure was approved 57-0 and it now moves to the House.
