WARY OF MEXICO

I'M WARY of another Iran-Contra type attempt to bring drugs into this
country as a result of George W. Bush's meeting with Vincente Fox, in which
plans were discussed to eliminate yearly certification of Mexico's efforts
to eradicate drug trafficking.

Moreover, the Bush administration will allow Mexican truck drivers to
travel U.S. highways, making it easier to transport cocaine, marijuana and
heroin into West Coast cities from Latin America.

Encouraging a larger number of Mexican farm workers to participate in the
guest worker program will also contribute to the AIDS epidemic on the West
Coast as well as in Mexico, since the Bush administration has not increased
funding for HIV prevention and education services.
