JOIN THE GOP, END THE DRUG WAR

Join the GOP, end the drug war: Jack Woehr of Golden, who ran
unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination in the 6th Congressional
District in 1994 and 2000, has switched his registration to
Republican.

Why? Woehr's main passion is to end what he considers the futile and
expensive war on drugs, and he claims more Republicans than Democrats
have seen the light: author William F. Buckley; economist Milton
Friedman; former Secretary of State George Shultz; former U.S. Rep.
Tom Campbell, R-Calif. (who lost a challenge to Sen. Dianne Feinstein
last year), and "our poster boy," Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico.

But if any major Colorado Republicans have turned against the drug
war, they're still keeping their light under a bushel.
